About Us

The Department of Political Science is an academically vibrant Department in Dhenkanal Autonomous College opened on 1959 with the beginning of institution itself.

It has a student capacity of 32 students in each batch of +3 1st Year, 2nd Year and 3rd Year Honours, which is likely to increase by 10 percent in 2015-2016 session accordingly to Govt of Odisha, Higher Education Dept. decision. The Department has 03 experienced faculties who impart quality teaching to the students according to a systematically designed syllabus on UGC model.

The Department also conducts regular seminars, Debates, Discussions and various other competitions among the students for achieving their academic excellence. The Department has a fully functional Seminar Library with latest publications on various streams of the subject for which the students are immediately benefited.

Students passing out of the Department either pursue higher studies or opt for various career options.

The department has been conducting various activities like Annual Seminar, obsevation of National and International important days and conducting various competitions.

   

Achievements of the Department

Most of the students of our department has been persuing thier higher studies in differnt parts of India and some of are working under government field and private sector after getting degree from this institution.
