About Us
The department of Zoology formally began functioning in 1959 with the inception of the college. The department imparts teaching in honours at the degree level.
The department undertakes teaching of environmental studies in humanities and commerce at the degree level. This is a part of environment awareness programme enforces by the government. The department also teaches Biology to students undertaking study in Physical Science, seminars are held among students as a part of the prescribed curriculum.
Eminent speakers are invited at periodic intervals to deliver talks on topics of current academic interest. Study tours are conducted every year and the tour report is presented in the shape of study tour report (project work report) out the end of the VI semester examination. The department has produces a galaxy of students placed in diverse worlds of life.
